Gillig Bus tie rod grease cups cracked

I have a Gillig Bus Chassis.

An email to Gillig Corp was no help.

As the title says, my tie rod grease cups are cracked and need to be replaced.

I have either a Dana or Rockwell 11,000 lb front suspension.

Does anyone have experience or idea what the replacement cost of the tie rod ends or grease cups could be installed?

No luck here--most tie-rod/drag link makers want to sell you the entire end--not just the cups. Companies like Moog make cups for cars but not for trucks. Let us know if you are successful finding generic or specific truck parts source.....

Dean,
When we had a Country Coach, I could never get a response from Gillig.

Here is info collected over a couple years that did get some responses and I was able to order some suspension parts.

Hope it helps.

To bad you aren't still in the JC area. Kaiser Brake & Alignment is a good shop located about 10 minutes away from Oregon Motorcoach. Kaiser Brake and Alignment, Inc. They do a lot of chassis work.

When I replaced the drag link boot on Freightliner chassis, got the part number from TRW and ordered thru Freightliner. About 5-7 dollars. (Same seal for tie rod ends)

Well, I checked with them as recommended by OMC, but they were booked for 2 1/2 weeks out. So no go for us.

Dean you should have available many truck repair places due to your location.

With gillig just over the hill their busses were all over the valley for years so there must be more than a few places that have worked on one.

You may be able to locate a shop with either a part number or part in Stock that can do the work.

Many school districts had their own shop but sent out for front end work so check the local service providers
